The St Patrick's Race Club invested $28,000 in October 2001 towards a major upgrade of the track, which was co-ordinated by international track expert and consultant to the NSW Country Racing Council, John Jeffs.
The track is worked daily by local trainers. Frequent dragging with a mesh drag mat and regular watering is undertaken to maintain the surface in good condition for track work and the two annual race meetings.

St Patrick's track surface has 100mm of sand over a firm clay base. The lowest point on the track is at the 900 metre mark and highest point at the 1800 metre post The track drops 4.62m between the 1600 metres post and 1000 metres from the finish then climbs 5.19 metres from that point to the finish post. |
